We are a Long Island, New York women’s chorus that embraces the uniquely American musical art form of Barbershop Harmony. Our music is sung in four parts, and is done “a cappella”, which means that we sing without musical instrument accompaniment. The Twin County Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International.

Our members come mostly from the twin counties of Nassau and Suffolk, the two New York State counties that make up Long Island. Some of our members also come from Brooklyn and Queens, in New York City, which is not far from us. We rehearse on Thursdays from 7:15 to around 10pm in Syosset, NY, in central Nassau County.

We are an amazing group of women, who gather together every week to create harmony with our voices. We share a common love of music and performance, and revel in achieving a beautiful and exciting sound. We sing in a variety of genres, from patriotic anthems and popular ballads, to holiday songs and exciting up-tunes. Many of our songs are tunes you know, arranged in the Barbershop style.

Our educational and energetic weekly rehearsals give us the opportunity to work on our music, forget our troubles, and have a few laughs. Our members come from all walks of life, including homemakers, professionals, and students. We are a friendly group of women, who think of ourselves as sisters in harmony. Our weekly rehearsals culminate in shows, where we wear costumes, and entertain our audiences with our beautiful sound.

We love the Barbershop sound, and we want to share it with you! Come to one of our exciting, colorful shows, or learn more about joining our chorus.
